In this interactive workshop, you will develop insights and learn skills to help you manage conflict more effectively in your personal or professional life. You will improve your ability to get better results by learning how to engage the person you are in conflict with and by learning to plan and prepare for any resulting negotiations. And lastly, you will learn how to coach others who are experiencing conflict, including friends, colleagues, employees and clients.

This workshop is intended for mediators, attorneys, social workers, human resource staff, therapists, school personnel, counselors, mangers, arbitrators and other professionals who work with people and help manage conflicts.

 

Dr. Timothy Hedeen is a Professor of Conflict Management at Kennesaw State University. He provides mediation services through court and private programs, delivers trainings in the areas of conflict resolution and communication, facilitates group and public policy decision making and planning, and conducts research and evaluation on dispute resolution and justice policy.

He serves on the editorial boards of Conflict Resolution Quarterly and Family Court Review, and serves on the Commission on Dispute Resolution of the Georgia Supreme Court. He is a senior consultant to the Consortium for Appropriate Dispute Resolution in Special Education, a former member of the Section Council of the American Bar Association's Section of Dispute Resolution, and a past chair of the Board of Directors of the National Association for Community Mediation.

Dr. Hedeen is an active member of the American Bar Association Section of Dispute Resolution, the Association for Conflict Resolution, the National Association for Community Mediation, and the American Association of University Professors. He serves as President of the KSU chapter of AAUP.
